Meditation, practiced on a regular basis, has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and even improve focus. Meditation is an important daily practice for millions of people around the world, and you’ll be amazed what meditating for fifteen minutes each day can accomplish. It’s often best to meditate before work in the morning; you might even do it right when you get up in the morning. Just clear your mind and think about what is important to you in life, and let the worries of the day just melt away. If you can’t meditate in the morning, grab a meditation cushion and take a fifteen minute break at work to do it.
You will return to your duties with renewed focus, and you will be able to tackle the demands of your life much better. Meditation will improve the quality of your life; try it for a week and see the results!

When I worked at a department store throughout high school, my supervisor was a real stickler for appropriate attire. She expected all of the employees to be wearing work approved apparel, and it had to look right. In other words she wanted shirt tucked in, pants pressed and clean, no stains, tie tightened, etc. But I think her greatest pet peeve was socks. I remember her walking up to an employee who was wearing black pants, blue shirt, and white socks, and she told him to go home! You couldn’t even see his white socks unless he was walking around.
One day, I was late waking up for work, and I got dressed in the dark and hurried to the store. When I arrived, I realized I was wearing one white sock and one blue sock with dark brown pants! I knew she would call me on it, so I ran over to menswear, and grabbed some blue crew socks off the shelf. While I was back in the employee lounge, she walked past, and saw me putting them on. Then she just nodded in approval, and kept walking… that was almost a disaster!
